Ingredients
500g mixed berries or pitted cherries
1 tsp cornflour
1 tbsp caster sugar
125g gluten-free self-raising flour
60g ground almonds
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda
Pinch of salt
60g dairy-free spread
4 tbsp non-dairy milk or soy yoghurt

Try this warming dessert that makes the most of summer berries – swap cherries for your favourite berries to tailor to your taste!
Preheat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas Mark 4.
Place the fruit in a large bowl with the cornflour and sugar. Toss to coat thoroughly.
Place the flour, ground almonds, baking powder, soda and salt in a separate bowl. Mix well. Rub in the dairy-free spread to form crumbs then stir in enough dairy-free milk or soy yoghurt to form a soft dough.
Put the fruit in a baking dish. Take spoonfuls of the dough and drop on top of the fruit.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes until golden and bubbling.
