Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen
Monkton, Honiton, EX14 9QN
Open: Monday – Thursday, 9am – 4pm.
Friday – Sunday, 9am – 5pm.
Indulge in irresistible gelato while enjoying fantastic views at this valley side position on the edge of the Blackdown Hills. Sit outside on the picnic tables or inside the main building with its marvellous mix of oak trusses and glass sidings. This farming family business has grown into an award-winning destination, with the team having travelled to Italy to learn direct from Italian master chefs and now creating their ice cream from cow to cone. From simple pots to chocolate Biscoff covered waffle cones, and with unique flavours and old favourites that include honeycomb, rhubarb & ginger, rice pudding with jam and even strawberry & balsamic vinegar, you’re bound to find something new and exciting. Flavours change with the seasons and weekly specials add to the fun – strawberry cheesecake anyone?

The Orange Elephant
Brenton Rd, Kennford, EX6 7YL
Is this Devon’s only ice cream drive through? Whether it’s a fleeting drive-by or a full family day-out to relax and enjoy all the farm has to offer, the Orange Elephant Ice Cream Parlour boasts a wide variety of ice cream flavours all made fresh on site by Helen and Robert, who have been on the farm for the last 25 years. Head to The Elephant Barn for your ice cream and all the toppings you can dream of (brownies AND a flake makes for a chocoholic dream). In the Summer Meadow opposite you can meet the donkeys, explore the orchards and play in the play area. Visit in July for the maize maze!

Taste of Sidmouth
Old Fore Street, Sidmouth, EX10 8LR
Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 6pm.
An enthusiastic team of Sidmouth locals have been combining fantastic Devonian ingredients with an Italian touch for nearly 10 years, offering over 18 mouthwatering flavours of gelato to taste and enjoy. Boasting a raft of Taste of the West awards, you’re sure to be in safe hands, with vegan and gluten-free options available too. Look out for their unique ice cream bike at events locally!

Sea Shore Ice Creamery
Queens Drive, Exmouth, EX8 2AY
This quirky kiosk on Exmouth’s seafront is small but mighty with over 30 creative flavours to choose from, and dairy-free and gluten-free options available to boot. Pick from maple & walnut, Turkish delight, bubblegum and many more. These guys are taking things a step further with hot Belgian waffles and sugar doughnut ice cream desserts too for the ultimate sweet tooth satisfaction. Pistachio is my pick!

Bonne Bouche
Various Venues, Mid Devon
Delicious decadent bubble waffles filled with Crosses Food Ice Cream and your choice of sweet treats inside, Bonne Bouche make an impact from the off serving from Margaux, the family’s restored 70-year-old Citroen HY panel van. Eton Mess, Biscoff and Cookies & Cream head the bill, with other flavours also available. Find them at Tiverton Electric Nights, Uffculme Music & Ale Festival and at Tiverton Pannier Market in The Waffle Shack every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
